Zartman Construction remodeled the old Pennsylvania House Commons building into a state-of-the-art fitness and wellness center.

The 94,000 square foot building houses 18,500 square feet of exercise equipment and a performance training center and 30,000 square feet of four hard indoor courts, a synthetic turf field and a 1/7 mile indoor track. The center also includes a daycare center, cafe, office spaces, multipurpose areas and locker rooms.

Zartman removed the existing concrete floors to install new plumbing, stripped the existing insulation before adding new spray foam insulation, installed a new roof and framed the interior walls to create the different spaces.

This project is a successful brownfield redevelopment project, the former furniture factory had been in operation for over a century before closing in the early 2000s. The site also included a floodplain restoration project and has improved water quality while lowering the 100-year floodplain in the surrounding neighborhood.
